Review of 2014

Following on from the 2013 review, I decided to do one for 2014 with some more of the rare and interesting moves I’ve seen during the year.

January

Following on from th 87002+92010 at CarstairsContinuing a week of rare traction and rare combinations on 6S51, BR Blue liveried 87002 and GBRF's 92010 are seen in the down goods loop at Carstairs with 6S51 Carlisle Yard - Mossend Departmental. Both locos are being driven independently with seperate crews in each loco. 2.1.14 e 31^st of December 2013 which saw a pair of Freightliner 86’s work 6S51 Carlisle Yard – Mossend Departmental in place of GBRF’s 92010 which had failed, January 2^nd saw more rare traction.   BR Blue liveried 87002 and GBRF's 92010 are seen in the down goods loop at Carstairs with 6S51 Carlisle Yard - Mossend Departmental. Both locos are being driven independently with seperate crews in each loco.

45170 at BonessLMS Stanier 8F 45170 was built in 1942 as one of the 25 locomotives sold to the Turkish State Railway during the 2nd World War and was still in operation until the 1980's. 45170 was recovered from Sivas in Turkey by the Churchill 8F Trust in 2010 and moved to Shildon for a while. It was then purchased and will eventually be returned to operating condition by the SRPS and moved to Boness on 13.11.14.
